Start with the category

Read the illustrated hands below from strongest to weakest. Identify the category before looking at an individual high card. These are general Teen Patti examples, not a record of play in the linked app.

Six hands, in order

1Trail / Trio

Three equal ranks.

2Pure sequence

Consecutive, same suit.

3Sequence

Consecutive, mixed suits.

4Color / Flush

Same suit, not consecutive.

5Pair

Two equal ranks.

6High card

None of the above.

General ranking reference; read your table’s rules for variants and tie-breaks.

Compare a pair correctly

Try this example: 7♠ 7♥ K♣ against 6♠ 6♥ A♦. The pair of sevens ranks above the pair of sixes; the ace does not change the category comparison. Write down the pair first, then the remaining card.

Check the Ace rule separately

A-2-3 and A-K-Q can be ordered differently by table rules. Find the sequence order in the rules for the table you are using before applying this chart. A rule absent from the app cannot be confirmed by an illustration on this website.

Practise without starting a round

Cover the hand names in the chart and describe each example in your own words. Look for repeated ranks, consecutive values and matching suits. Then reveal the label. This checks recognition; it does not predict a result or recommend a stake.
